We make personalised orthoses in our own workshop in Granada. The same technical precision we apply to insoles, applied to the ankle, knee, wrist and spine.
What is an orthosis?
An orthosis is an external device fitted over a joint or body segment to correct its position, limit its movement, relieve pressure or compensate for a loss of function. It can be off-the-shelf or made entirely to measure on the patient's body.
At BIONIKA we manufacture in our own workshop when the indication requires it, and we also supply off-the-shelf orthoses when that is sufficient — always guided by the specialist's prescription.

What we assess in the consultation
We assess the user's capabilities: muscle tone, trunk control, arm reach and actual level of independence.
Hip width, seat depth, backrest height and leg length to ensure the correct posture.
Home interior, outdoors, ramps, transport. The environment determines the turning radius, wheel type and weight of the chair.
Temporary or permanent use, self-propulsion capability, presence of a regular carer and independence goals.
What is the visit like?
Message or call us to reserve time in store with no waiting.
A qualified orthotic/prosthetic technician assesses the user, takes measurements and tries out models.
We explain which model suits best and why. The decision is yours.
The assessment is carried out in person at our shop in Granada (Av. de la Ilustración 121). We do not offer home visits for this service. The advice given is technical and does not constitute a medical prescription.

Why an adjustable bed?
An adjustable bed lets you independently adjust the position of the backrest, the legs, or both. This adaptability makes a real difference for people with reduced mobility, circulatory problems, chronic pain or who are recovering from surgery.
Allows you to find the exact position that reduces pressure on load-bearing areas, relieves lower back pain and improves sleep quality.
Makes getting up and lying down easier without effort. Reduces the risk of falls and allows for a more comfortable and safer recovery.
Raising the legs improves venous return and reduces swelling. Indicated for venous insufficiency or lymphoedema.
Motorised movement allows the user to sit up without help from others, preserving their independence.
Sleeping with the torso raised relieves sleep apnoea, reflux and night-time breathing difficulties.
Makes caregiving easier: repositioning, hygiene, feeding and moving the person without excessive effort.
Anti-pressure-sore mattresses
For users with very limited mobility or who are bedridden long-term, the mattress is just as important as the bed. Anti-pressure-sore mattresses redistribute pressure over the body's support points, reducing the risk of pressure ulcers.
At BIONIKA we advise on the most suitable mattress: static ones made of viscoelastic or high-density foam, or dynamic air mattresses with a compressor for higher-risk cases.
Viscoelastic or high-density foam with a cut-cell structure. Suitable for users with partial mobility and moderate risk.
Low-medium riskWith a motorised compressor that continuously alternates pressure between cells. Indicated for long-term bedridden patients at high risk of ulcers.

The K classification is determined by the rehabilitation doctor or the orthotic/prosthetic technician. BIONIKA advises on the most suitable Össur component for each level.

We select the most suitable Össur components for the K level, anatomy and lifestyle.
We work alongside the rehabilitation doctor and physiotherapist to meet functional goals.
